Charity Day/ Flea Market 2009

On 31st July 2009, Leaders' Club participated in the Charity Day aka Flea Market which was jointly organised by the Taylor's University College Student Council and ECA in support of World Vision Malaysia. The booths mostly comprised of outside vendors selling beautiful accessories, clothes, decorative ornaments and food; which became a shopping heaven for you got it, the ladies!

There were only a few clubs who took part that day and Leaders' Club was among the few clubs who had a game stall. Our drink Optimus Prime which was The Drink Of the Day caught the attention of many thirsty shoppers. Unfortunately, our game "Guess the Number?" did not meet our expectations as we faced a huge amount of competition with the vendors. At this setback, we conclude that spending a few dollars on an item in return would be more profitable than spending a few dollars on a game, right?

All in all, the experience was indeed beneficial as it cultivates the spirit of teamwork and great perseverance among members. To all members who volunteered that day; THANK YOU! Not forgetting those who drop by and supported our stall! Cheers.

Flea Market 31st July 2009

Hey guys!

For those of you who are completely clueless on what we will be doing this Friday, here is a brief explanation on what we have discussed in the past two meetings. We are in shortage of man power and hope you would be able to lend a helping hand. Leaders' club will be setting up a booth opposite The Web at the car park. The theme of our booth is

Famous Leaders Around the World.

So, what will we be doing?

1) Guess the number...This is a game where our potential customers guess the number of sweets in a big jar. We will be charging them RM2 for 3 guesses. The most accurate answer in the order of their guesses determines the grand prize winner. The grand prize is a HAMPER. Here is how the process goes. There will be two coupons involved.

Coupon A will be collected by us and kept in a box after our customers submitted their guesses. Coupon B is another copy given to our customers for verification purposes. The game section will be closed at 4.00PM for counting session and at 4.30PM the results will be announced on stage and the winner has to present

Coupon B upon collecting the prize. There will only be one winner and one grand prize, no consolation prizes.

2)Drink Of A Day Since our booth theme is famous leaders around the world, we've decided to name our drinks by the name of famous leaders. We had some drink-tasting session in the past two meetings and finally came to a unanimous decision on what we should sell.

a) Optimus Prime (Suggested by our teacher advisor, since Optimus Prime is indeed a great leader in the world of Transformers) .This drink is a mixture of Ribena + 7 up lemon + sour plum. Sweet and sour with slight fizz.

b) We haven't decided on the second drink yet. It depends on the amount of water tank available. If any of you have extra water tanks at home and won't mind lending it, do inform us!Price of the drinks is not confirmed. May reach up to RM 1.50 or RM 1.00 depending on the size of the cups.

Dear Leaders!

We will be having a meeting this Friday to discuss the upcoming recruitment drive (ECA Day) a.k.a. flea market on 31st July. The flea market is jointly organised by the TUC Student Council and the ECA Centre, and is aimed at helping the World Vision Foundation.

Leaders' Club will be setting up a booth in support of this charity foundation and also to recruit new members of the June/July intake. We require manpower to help out during the event. Members who are interested to be in the committee for the event, please attend the meeting which will be held on Friday, 24th July at 3pm in the ECA discussion room as we will be conducting a briefing session/discussion about the event.

Your participation in this event will be taken into account as attendance and this will count towards recognition as an active member. For more details, please contact Hui Lu (012-328 0697) or Kelsey (012-377 5868).
